Funder(s): Breathe Better Air Fund

Date: Spring 2024

Delivery Partner: N/A

Details: This project was all about highlighting practical steps people can take to improve the quality of the air we breathe in South Sefton via a publicity campaign including switching to public transport and walking or cycling, where distance allows. Our charity is a respected voice in this area due to our campaigning work (see “Save Rimrose Valley” project) and our supporters are tuned into messages about the ability active travel has to improve air quality and get people fit in the process.  We were conscious not to ‘preach’ or stigmatise people for their own travel choices. Equally, although air pollution can have dire consequences for people’s health, we didn’t want to scare people with the messaging.  We produced physical posters, flyers and a billboard alongside a busy route. We also filmed, edited and produced an information film, featuring pupils from several local schools we work with, which received fantastic feedback from the public and funder alike.
